KOTA KINABALU: The Coroner’s Court is expected to hear further testimony today from the sixth witness in the inquest into the death of Zara Qairina Mahathir.
On Wednesday, security guard Linah Mansoding @ Jaliha, 65, from Kinarut, told the court that there were no closed-circuit television cameras installed at the SMKA Tun Mustapha dormitory.
She also testified that the school’s public telephones had been out of service for 48 hours.
The inquest, now in its seventh day, conducted a scene visit at Zara’s school yesterday.
Other witnesses who have testified include forensic pathologist Dr Jessie Hiu, document examiner Nurul Atiqah Mohd Noh, medical officers Dr Janefer Voo and Dr Pavankumar Balachandran, as well as crime scene investigator Inspector Maidon Bernadus.
The 17-day inquest, which began on Sept 3, is expected to hear from more than 60 witnesses, about half of whom are children.
Zara, 13, was found unconscious at her school on July 16 and was pronounced dead the following day at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
