PETALING JAYA: Datuk Yusoff Mahadi has been named acting president of the FA of Malaysia (FAM) following the resignation of Datuk Joehari Ayub.
The decision was confirmed at Wednesday’s executive committee meeting at Wisma FAM in Kelana Jaya.
FAM said Joehari had tendered his resignation as president, which the committee accepted out of respect for his wishes.
The committee also recorded its gratitude to Joehari for his service and contributions since he was elected as vice-president in 2017 and later as president on February 15 this year.
Under Article 42, Paragraph 7 of the FAM Statutes, the longest-serving deputy president will assume the role until the next congress, scheduled for next year, when a new president will be elected to serve the remainder of the term.
