PONTIAN, Sept 9 (Bernama) — Yayasan Sultan Ibrahim Johor (YSIJ) today donated 1,000 food baskets to families from the Kukup and Benut communities in this district as part of its welfare and community efforts.

According to a post on the official Facebook page of Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, the donation was presented by YSIJ chief executive officer Mohd Anizam Jamian to Kukup assemblyman Datuk Jefridin Atan as well as Pontian chief assistant district officer Muhammad Haziq Abdul Latiff before being distributed to the recipients.

The handover ceremony was held at the Dewan Homestay Kampung Parit Puteri Menangis for the Kukup community and at the Dewan Terbuka Kompleks Penghulu Mukim Serkat for the Benut community.

The food baskets contained basic necessities such as rice, sugar, flour, and cooking oil to help ease the burden of less fortunate people.
