Youth's 120km Trip To PMR 2025 Pays Off With Proton Job


KOTA BHARU, Aug 9 (Bernama) — A 120-kilometre motorcycle journey to attend a MyFutureJobs interview at the Program MADANI Rakyat (PMR) 2025 here has landed an unemployed man a job at Proton.

Muhammad Hanan Che Mansor, 23, the eldest of three siblings, was hired as an operator at the automotive company after attending the interview at the grounds of Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium.

The youth from Kampung Kuala Balah, Jeli, said he learned about the interview opportunity after his mother sent him a link about the programme in .

“I was determined to come here (Kota Bharu) by motorcycle, enduring a 120-kilometre journey to try my luck.

“Alhamdulillah, my effort has paid off. I was offered a job at Proton and will report for duty next week in Tanjung Malim, Perak,” he told Bernama today.

Muhammad Hanan said he had been unemployed as he needed to care for his ailing 76-year-old father.

“I’m very happy to have secured a job. Programmes like this are a great help, especially for young people in this state to find employment,” he said.

Socso director Nora Yaacob said the three-day MyFutureJobs Programme, which began on Thursday, involved nine companies offering a total of 854 vacancies.

“Over the past two days, 154 people have been offered jobs at the nine companies collaborating with Socso.

“Most of the vacancies are outside , so this programme has to some extent helped the people of this state find job opportunities,” she said.

PMR 2025 Kelantan was officially closed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ibrahim this afternoon.

The three-day programme was spearheaded by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation in collaboration with the Implementation Coordination Unit, Prime Minister’s Department, and supported by various government ministries and agencies.

Throughout the event, PMR 2025 Kelantan offered over 100 direct services to the public, showcased the latest technology and implemented various community outreach initiatives through the comprehensive MADANI Government approach.
