Police have launched an investigation into the murder of a woman in her 20s, who was found dead at a house in Subang Jaya, Selangor, on Thursday.
Subang Jaya district police chief Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the victim’s father had found the woman on the second floor of the house in USJ2. Medical officers confirmed she had already died.
Wan Azlan said a post-mortem showed that the victim died from bleeding around her hyoid bone (in her neck), while wounds found on the muscle and bone were consistent with “manual strangulation”.
“The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. The investigation is ongoing to obtain further information and the motive for the crime.
“We urge the public against speculating on this incident on social media,” he said in a statement.
