XPeng widens G6 lineup in Malaysia with lower-priced standard range

KUALA LUMPUR: Bermaz XPeng Sdn Bhd has introduced the XPeng G6 Ultra Smart Coupe SUV standard range, expanding its G6 lineup following the launch of the long range and AWD performance variants last October.

The new variant is priced from RM158,888 and is now available for sale.

Bermaz Auto Bhd group chief executive officer Datuk Seri Francis Lee said the standard range reflects the company’s aim to broaden access to electric vehicles while retaining core technology.

“As we continue expanding XPeng’s presence in Malaysia, our focus remains on delivering smart electric vehicles that elevate the driving experience while meeting the needs of a rapidly evolving market,” he said.

“The G6 Standard Range reflects our commitment to offering more Malaysians the opportunity to experience advanced EV technology at an accessible entry point.”

Built on XPeng’s SEPA 2.0 architecture, the standard range uses a 68.5 kWh battery paired with an 800V charging system.

The company says the vehicle can charge from 10-80 per cent in about 12 minutes and offers a WLTP-rated range of up to 480 km, with energy consumption as low as 16.6 kWh per 100 km.

The G6 standard range produces 185 kW of power and 440 Nm of torque, with a lighter overall weight compared to the Long Range variant.

Suspension tuning is aimed at balancing comfort and handling for daily driving.

Standard intelligent driving features include XPilot Assist, adaptive cruise control, lane centring control and autonomous parking functions.

Inside, the cabin features a digital interface, configurable software settings and a 360-degree camera system.
