KUANTAN: Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail’s recent statement should not be interpreted as an assessment of the value or contributions of any political party.
Although Pahang Umno did not name any party in its media statement, the clarification came in response to Wan Rosdy’s speech in Putrajaya today, where he was quoted as saying that it was sometimes easier to work with DAP than with MCA.
Pahang Umno information chief Datuk Seri Shahaniza Shamsuddin said Wan Rosdy’s remarks should be understood in the context of administrative experience and the need to ensure the smooth functioning of the state government, rather than as a denial of any party’s contributions or standing.
“Pahang Umno respects the role of all political partners who collectively contribute to the state’s development.
“Differences in views and experiences should be seen as part of a healthy democratic process and not as a denial of any party’s service,” she said in a statement today.
Shahaniza said Wan Rosdy shoulders significant responsibility in ensuring that every state government policy and decision is implemented effectively for the benefit of the people of Pahang.
“In this process, experiences in working with various parties will naturally differ depending on the situation, timing and issues involved.
“Pahang Umno firmly supports the Menteri Besar’s leadership in steering the state government, particularly in efforts to maintain political stability, racial harmony and administrative effectiveness,” she said.
Wan Rosdy, who is also the Pahang Umno liaison committee chairman, was earlier reported as saying that the presence of DAP state executive councillors in the Pahang government had made administrative matters easier compared to MCA representatives who were previously part of the coalition.
