Wan Rosdy hits out at Yeo Bee Yin over 'arrogant' Najib ruling post

KUANTAN: Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail criticised Puchong MP Yeo Bee Yin’s post on yesterday’s court ruling on former prime minister Datuk Seri ‘s failed judicial review application, describing it as being arrogant and offensive to Najib’s family and .

Wan Rosdy, who is also the Pahang Liaison Committee chairman, said that court decisions should not be turned into a platform for cheap political triumphalism.

Celebrating the ruling with mockery and sarcasm, he said, only exposed the immaturity and absence of values of an elected representative, he said according to Berita Harian.

“If one wishes to build friendships, do so with manners and sincerity, not with empty ridicule that ultimately causes those who are so arrogant to drown in their own conceit,” he said in a statement.

Wan Rosdy was responding to a social media post by Yeo, who is also the DAP National Publicity Secretary, who said it was “another reason to celebrate this year end”, accompanied by a link to a news portal article titled “No house arrest for Najib”.

He also said that Pahang would continue to stand firm, remain unwavering, and never retreat in its support for Najib.

“Umno Pahang will continue its efforts to seek justice for Datuk Seri Najib,” Wan Rosdy added.

A number of other Umno leaders have already lashed out at Yeo, including Barisan Nasional secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir.

Why the need to celebrate? Do not celebrate the suffering of others.

“Life is a cycle. Remember your leaders are not infallible either,” said the higher education minister in a post shared on his Facebook page.

High Court judge Alice Loke yestwerday dismissed Najib’s application to enforce an alleged royal addendum that would have allowed him to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest.

She ruled that the alleged Addendum Order was invalid as it was made in excess of Article 42 of the Federal Constitution and did not comply with the mandatory procedures governing the exercise of the royal prerogative of mercy.

Hence, Najib will remain in Kajang Prison to complete his jail sentence for misappropriating RM42 million from SRC International Sdn Bhd.
