KUALA LUMPUR: A university student was among four people detained by the National Anti-Drug Agency (Nada) after she tested positive for ganja during a joint operation at the Dengkil Rest Area along the Elite Expressway last night.
The woman, in her 20s, was among a group of four friends travelling in a Perodua car that was stopped by the Road Transport Department (RTD).
All four women were screened during the stop, but only one tested positive for drugs.
She was heard telling personnel that she last took the drugs a day earlier at her home in Negri Sembilan.
“What is going to happen now? Will the university take action against me?” she was heard asking.
The woman who was handcuffed looked worried while talking to Nada personnel.
Meanwhile, a 42-year-old e-hailing driver was also detained after testing positive for methamphetamines.
“Abang. I have a passenger inside my car now. Can you give me a chance?” he was heard pleading with Nada personnel.
When asked, he said he had just picked up a passenger from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport and was headed to Subang Jaya when he was stopped.
“This is not the first time I tested positive. I have been detained twice before.
“Please let me go to send my passenger home,” he was heard pleading again.
Despite his pleas, his passenger was forced to cancel the ride and call for another car.
