GERIK: A man’s body was found in a tributary at Air Rengat, Temenggor, early today.
Gerik district police chief, Superintendent Abdul Samad Othman, said the discovery was reported to the district police headquarters at about 9.10am by Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) Temenggor auxiliary police.
According to Abdul Samad, an Orang Asli man, 32, found the body in the river at about 8.25am and immediately rushed to the Trojan jetty to inform the auxiliary police.
A police team was dispatched to the scene and found the man lying face down in the water.
Checks on the body did not uncover any identification documents, and it has been sent to the Forensic Unit of Gerik Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The case has been classified as sudden death pending the post-mortem results.
