KUALA LUMPUR: The Selangor Road Transport Department (RTD) seized two vehicles and issued multiple notices to foreigners caught driving without valid documents in two separate operations.
Its director, Azrin Borhan, said an operation on Friday in Bukit Cerakah uncovered a series of violations involving a foreign driver, including the absence of a Competent Driving Licence (CDL) and a Goods Driving Licence (GDL).
“Our personnel also found that the vehicle’s road tax and Puspakom inspection had expired, it was not covered by insurance and it displayed a registration number not belonging to the vehicle. The driver was also found not wearing a seat belt,” he said.
He said the vehicle was subsequently seized and taken to the Ijok Enforcement Station.
Azrin said another operation yesterday along the Seremban–Semenyih road involved a UNHCR cardholder who was found driving a Honda BR-V without a CDL.
“The vehicle was seized and transported to the Semenyih Enforcement Station,” he said.
He said notices were issued for offences under the Road Transport Act 1987 and its regulations.
He added that the Selangor RTD continuously monitors all complaints and conducts regular enforcement to ensure vehicles comply with road transport rules and laws.
The public is urged to channel traffic-related complaints via [email protected] or through the e-aduan platform, together with their details and information on the complaint.
