KUALA LUMPUR: Youth will hold a solat hajat (special prayer) to seek ease in the affairs of Datuk Seri , who is currently serving a prison sentence, on the final day of the 2025 General Assembly this Saturday.

Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh expressed hope that Najib would one day return to Dewan Merdeka.

He said the former Umno president had rendered immense service to the party and the nation, adding that Umno Youth has never forgotten the contributions of leaders who once led the wing, regardless of whether they remain in the party.

“We have never forgotten that there is a former Umno Youth chief who today is behind bars, but whose contributions to the party and the country are far too great.

“That is why we pray that ‘Bossku’ is granted good health, that all his affairs are eased, and, God willing, that there will be good news in the near future.

“Let us perform the solat hajat together for Najib, asking Allah to ease all his affairs, with the hope that one day we will see Najib return to this hall, Dewan Merdeka, together with us,” he said in his winding-up speech at the Umno Youth General Assembly today.

Akmal also said that Datuk Seri Ibrahim is a former Umno Youth chief.

He added that Umno Youth would continue to be the backbone of the party and remain at the forefront of defending religion, race and the country, while preparing for a series of upcoming elections.

“Soon, we will be facing election after election. There is no more time for complacency.

“This is the time for us to work harder and organise our efforts more systematically.

“We are not a perfect party, but we are a party that must be perfected by all of us. God willing, with this spirit, Umno will once again become dominant in the country,” he said.
