NEW YORK, July 25 (Xinhua) — U.S. stocks ended higher on Friday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 208.01 points, or 0.47 percent, to 44,901.92. The S&P 500 added 25.29 points, or 0.4 percent, to 6,388.64. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased 50.36 points, or 0.24 percent, to 21,108.32.
Nine of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in green, with materials and industrials leading the gainers by rising 1.17 percent and 0.98 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, energy and communication services led the laggards by falling 0.4 percent and 0.19 percent, respectively.
