NEW YORK, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) — The U.S. dollar climbed in late trading on Friday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, gained 0.14 percent to 99.298 at 3 p.m. (2000 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro fell to 1.1618 dollars from 1.1635 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound was down to 1.3165 dollars from 1.3190 U.S. dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 154.56 Japanese yen, higher than 154.47 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar added to 0.7940 Swiss francs from 0.7927 Swiss francs, and it decreased to 1.4026 Canadian dollars from 1.4033 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar rose to 9.4584 Swedish kronor from 9.3983 Swedish kronor.
