NEW YORK, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) — The U.S. dollar fell in late trading on Monday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, decreased 0.31 percent to 97.339 at 3 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro was up to 1.1797 dollars from 1.1748 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound climbed to 1.3517 dollars from 1.3469 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 147.73 Japanese yen, lower than 147.96 Japanese yen in the previous session. The U.S. dollar fell to 0.7925 Swiss francs from 0.7955 Swiss francs, and it rose to 1.3821 Canadian dollars from 1.3776 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar slipped to 9.3552 Swedish kronor from 9.4147 Swedish kronor.
