JELI: Two people were killed and five others injured in a road accident involving a Perodua Alza and a lorry along the East-West Highway here today.
A Jeli Fire and Rescue Station spokesman said they received a distress call through the MERS999 system at 3.23pm.
“Following the call, seven firemen led by operations commander Anuar Hamid were dispatched to the scene, located about 32km from the station.
“Upon arrival at 3.57pm, firefighters found the crash involved a Perodua Alza and a lorry.
“Two victims were pronounced dead at the scene while five others sustained injuries,” the spokesman said.
He said all injured victims were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
