CYBERJAYA: The Regent of Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, has played a key role in facilitating investigations into a drug and contraband smuggling syndicate allegedly involving senior armed forces officers in the southern region, said Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki.
He said much of the intelligence gathered was made possible through the Johor Crown Prince’s extensive network.
“As Regent, Tunku Ismail has been highly cooperative and resolute in wanting this problem eradicated. We have obtained valuable information through his connections,” Azam told reporters today.
