Tropical depression Kalmaegi could bring rough seas near Kelantan, says Met Dept

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 7 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) today issued an advisory on tropical depression Kalmaegi detected at a latitude of 14.0 north and longitude 105.0 east, approximately 121 kilometres northwest of Stung Treng, Cambodia.

In a statement, MetMalaysia said the storm was moving west at 35 kilometres per hour, with a maximum wind speed of 62 kilometres per hour.

It added that the tropical depression is located about 920 kilometres northeast of Tumpat, .

“This condition may cause strong winds and rough seas over the waters of the South Sea,” the statement read. — Bernama
