A storm in the late afternoon caused a number of trees to fall across Kuala Lumpur today, disrupting traffic.
A few vehicles were damaged, but no injuries have been reported.
The Kuala Lumpur Operations Command Centre said the affected areas included Jalan Tempinis 3, Lorong Maarof and Jalan Medang Kapas in Bangsar, the junction near Universiti Malaya, and other locations in Pantai, Hang Tuah, Seputeh, Setapak, Keramat and Bandar Tun Razak.
“Fire and rescue teams were deployed to several locations to carry out clearing operations, remove fallen trees, and ensure public safety,” it said in a statement.
The command centre also said the Kuala Lumpur fire and rescue department was coordinating with Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to provide assistance through its various divisions.
