INDONESIA

1. INDUSTRY GROUP: INDONESIA’S ANNUAL CAR TAX IS 10X HIGHER THAN IN MALAYSIA — JAKARTA GLOBE

Indonesian car owners pay up to ten times more in annual vehicle taxes than their Malaysian counterparts, a disparity that industry leaders say is discouraging middle-class consumers and weakening the domestic automotive market.

 

2. NO RICE AID FOR ONLINE GAMBLERS, TERROR SUSPECTS: BULOG — ANTARA

State logistics agency Bulog said that beneficiaries of the government’s 10-kilogramme food assistance and the Rice Supply and Price Stabilisation (SPHP) programmes will be excluded from the aid if found involved in online gambling or terrorism.
