The Ministry of Industry and Commerce has granted a licence to the Lao Bullion Bank to operate an electronic gold trading platform. The bank can now conduct gold collection and trading services using its LBB PLUS App.

1. YEARLY RICE EXPORTS TOUCH 2.48 MILLION TONNES — THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR
Myanmar earned nearly RM5 billion (US$1.13 billion) from exporting 2.48 million metric tonnes of rice and broken rice in the 2024-2025 financial year. The exports were slightly lower than the projected target of 2.5 million metric tonnes.
2. MEKONG-LANCANG FUNDS TO ASSIST DEVELOPMENT — THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR
Myanmar will benefit from RM15 million (US$3.3 million) under the newly signed Mekong Lancang agreement. Funded by China, it will help Myanmar implement projects in agriculture, cultural exchange, legal, technology, environment, disaster management and commercial navigation.
