TM's Q2 net profit rises to RM402.97mil

KUALA LUMPUR: Telekom Malaysia Bhd’s (TM) net profit rose 1.7 per cent to RM402.97 million in the second quarter (Q2) ended June 30, 2025 from RM396.42 million a year ago.

However, the company’s revenue fell 4.7 per cent to RM2.77 billion in Q2 2025 from RM2.91 billion last year.

This was due to the absence of a one-off item recorded previously, along with C2C deliverables, where projects are expected to be completed in the second half of the year.

During the quarter, profit after tax and non-controlling interests (Patami) rose 1.7 per cent compared to corresponding quarter last year to RM403.0 million, while earnings before interest and tax (Ebit) grew 4.5 per cent to RM640.0 million.

For the first half of 2025 (1H25), TM’s net profit fell to RM804.22 million from RM821.23 million last year, while revenue stood at RM5.62 billion versus RM5.74 billion a year earlier as a result of an intensely competitive market.

TM declared an interim dividend of 12.5 sen per share, amounting to RM479.7 million for the financial year 2025.

TM group chief executive officer Amar Huzaimi Md Deris said while the market environment remains challenging, the company’s results demonstrated resilience and ability to execute its strategic priorities.

Amar said TM is building positive momentum through stronger convergence growth, improved cost structures and disciplined capital management.

“With our investments in future- ready infrastructure, we are advancing towards our aspiration to become a Digital Powerhouse by 2030, while delivering sustainable value for our stakeholders,” he added.
