Thunderstorms, heavy rain expected to extend in several states until 7 pm


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning that thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected to extend across several states, including the Federal Territories of and Labuan, until 7 pm today.

According to MetMalaysia, the bad weather is expected to affect Perak (Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang, Muallim); (Jeli, Kuala Krai); and Port Dickson in Negeri Sembilan.

The warning also covers Pahang (Maran, Kuantan, Pekan, Rompin); (Hulu , Klang, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Sepang); and Johor (Mersing, Pontian, Kulai, Johor Bahru).

In Sarawak, affected areas include Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei (Pakan, Julau), Sibu (Kanowit, Selangau), Mukah, Kapit (Song), Bintulu, Miri (Subis, Miri, Marudi), and Limbang.

Sabah is also expected to be impacted, including the Interior (Sipitang, Tenom, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort, Keningau, Tambunan), the West Coast, Sandakan (Tongod, Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran), and Kudat.
