LAHAD DATU: Three civil servants were among five people arrested during an Op Tapis operation conducted in Taman Harapan, Jalan Silam, yesterday.
The raid, carried out by the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department of the Lahad Datu district police headquarters, resulted in the seizure of syabu, ketum juice, cough syrup, and several dangerous weapons.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Dzulbaharin Ismail said the operation led to the confiscation of 0.41 grammes of syabu, 224 litres of ketum juice, and 8.20 litres of cough syrup.
“Dangerous weapons, including a samurai sword and six machetes, were also seized.
“The total value of the confiscated items is estimated at RM11,655.40,” he said in a statement today.
Urine screening found that one suspect tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine, while the other four tested negative.
“All suspects, aged between 24 and 38, are currently under remand and being investigated under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, Section 30(3) of the Poisons Act 1952, and Section 6(1) of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958,” he added.
