KUALA LUMPUR: Umno Youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh says there are many “Akmal Saleh” who can replace him in the future following his resignation as a Melaka executive councillor.
He said he had time to train party youth members.
“Do not worry about my resignation, I won’t be far from the party.
“When Akmal Saleh resigned, he will train 300,000 more ‘Akmal Saleh’ to replace him,” he said during his winding-up speech at the Umno Youth meeting here on Thursday (Jan 15) night.
Earlier on Thursday, Dr Muhamad Akmal said he would step down as Melaka rural development, agriculture and food security committee chairman.
He said his resignation would take effect next week but he would remain as Umno Youth chief.
