MIRI, Nov 2 — Firefighters captured a 1.5-metre-long crocodile after it was found injured on the road at Marina Phase 1 here last night.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 10.03pm, prompting an immediate dispatch of six firefighters from Miri fire station to the scene.
“Upon arrival, the firefighters discovered a crocodile, measuring about 1.5 metres in length, lying on the road. There were signs that the reptile had been hit by a vehicle,” it said in a statement.
The firefighters used a rope-snaring technique to safely capture the reptile.
“The crocodile was later handed over to personnel from the Sarawak Forestry for further action,” it added.
