Thailand and Cambodia hold special border committee talks to ensure peace prevails

BANGKOK(Bernama): Thailand and Cambodia convened a Special Regional Border Committee (RBC) Secretariat Meeting on Sunday, aimed at enhancing cooperation and strengthening ties along their border areas.

The meeting, held at the Pailin province in Cambodia, was attended by the Chanthaburi-Trat Border Defence Command (CTBDC) of the Royal Thai Navy and Military Region 5 of the Royal Cambodian Army.

The Royal Thai Navy said the Thai delegation was led by the Chief of Staff of the CTBDC and the Thai Secretary of the Committee, Captain Udom Kulsiripanyo.

The Cambodian side was headed by Deputy Commander of Military Region 5 of the Royal Cambodian Army and Cambodian Secretary of the Committee, Major General Sor Kimpak, who co-chaired the session.

“During the meeting, both sides discussed measures to strengthen cooperation, deepen mutual understanding, and jointly address challenges along the border.

“The discussions focused on maintaining peace, ensuring security, and promoting good relations between Thailand and Cambodia,” the Royal Thai Navy said in a brief statement published on its official Facebook page on Sunday. – Bernama
