KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 15 — The 14-year-old boy accused of fatally stabbing his 16-year-old schoolmate is expected to be taken to court today, as police seek to obtain a remand order.

New Straits Times said police are believed to be escorting the teen to the Petaling Jaya Court Complex around 9am as investigations into the killing at a Bandar Utama school continue.

Police yesterday confirmed that a 16-year-old female student at a secondary school in Bandar Utama was fatally stabbed by a male classmate.

The attack reportedly took place in or near the girls’ toilet of SMK Bandar Utama 4 on Tuesday morning.

Initial investigations found that the victim had suffered multiple stab wounds.

Two sharp weapons believed to have been used in the incident were recovered at the scene.

Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail confirmed that a 14-year-old boy had been detained in connection with the case.

Petaling Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Shamsudin Mamat said the victim sustained several stab wounds to the body, believed to have been inflicted with a sharp weapon.

Initial investigations found that the victim had been stabbed repeatedly with two different weapons.

The repeated stab wounds are believed to have caused her death.
