#TECH: Fortinet expands regional cloud security capacity with new data hub

CYBERSECURITY firm Fortinet has launched a new regional point-of-presence (PoP) for its cloud-native application protection platform, FortiCNAPP, aimed at bolstering data security for organisations across Asean and South Asia.

The company said the facility is designed to bring advanced cloud security services closer to businesses in the region, helping them meet data residency requirements, navigate regulatory obligations and safeguard sensitive information as they accelerate digital transformation.

It’s Fortinet’s second FortiCNAPP deployment in the Asia-Pacific region, following its installation in Australia, and complements existing infrastructure in North America and Europe.

It said the move reflects growing demand for scalable, localised security solutions as more companies embrace multi-cloud and hybrid environments while facing increasingly complex cyber threats.

“Organisations are under pressure to innovate quickly, but they must also comply with local regulations and protect critical data,” a Fortinet spokesperson said.

“By hosting these services within the region, we can help reduce latency, improve performance, and support compliance needs more effectively.”
