The Magistrate’s Court here granted the remand order after the man allegedly attacked his wife in their bedroom at Taman Tunas Muda, Sungai Ara, on Wednesday.
Magistrate Zaireen Zainudin issued the remand order beginning Saturday (Aug 30) until September 4 to allow police to investigate under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.
Earlier, he arrived at the Balik Pulau Court Complex in a police vehicle at about 9.15 am, wearing a T-shirt and black track pants.
The teacher appeared sombre, with his left hand bandaged up to the elbow and visible stitches on his neck.
Initial reports indicated that the incident was triggered by the suspect’s financial troubles at about 6 am on Wednesday.
