KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 12 (Bernama) — Food brand label initiative Taiwan Select has launched an exclusive showcase featuring 40 well-known Taiwanese brands and over 300 products at The Food Merchant international grocer from today till Dec 31, 2025, at Pavilion Bukit Jalil.
In a statement today, the brand initiative said diverse charms of Taiwanese food will be on full display in this limited-time showcase at the grocer, which includes snacks, seasoning, instant beverages, instant noodles, sauces, and children’s biscuits.
“Among the products on display are 26 new items that are hugely popular in Taiwan and are debuting in Malaysia for the first time.
“The new items include ‘Hsin Tung Yang’ traditional cookies, ‘Teaman’ brown sugar milk tea packs, ‘Tang Shop’ black sesame crisps, and ‘Mr Hero’ taro pastries,” it said.
Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia representative Phoebe Yeh said the showcase delivers more than just tasty treats — it shares three unique qualities of Taiwanese food: trust, nature, and creativity.
“With this, Taiwanese brands can grow roots in Malaysia, become part of everyday life, and open up more opportunities for food trade and collaboration between Taiwan and Malaysia,” she said.
Taiwan Select said the Taiwanese food at the showcase is exclusively introduced by Malaysia’s leading food importer Jimrosa (M) Sdn Bhd and is specially curated to Malaysian taste buds.
This five-month-long promotional event will feature long-time favourites among Malaysian consumers, such as pineapple cakes, mochi, and sun cakes, as well as 14 halal-certified products.
The event will also feature the Toddler Friends children’s biscuit series and multiple tasting events being held from Sept 12-14 as part of the promotion campaign.
“Customers who spend RM50 or more in a single purchase will receive a beautiful eco-friendly bag, while those who spend RM100 or more can also participate in a lucky draw to win exclusive gifts such as luggage straps and hand fans,” it added.
