KUALA LUMPUR: Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani’s run at the China Masters ended tamely after the world No. 3 pair were swept aside 21-16, 21-11 by Indonesia’s Fajar Alfian-Shobihul Fikri in the quarter-finals in Shenzhen today.
It was sweet revenge for the Indonesians, who had lost to the Malaysians in the quarter-finals of the Japan Open in July.
The defeat meant Sze Fei-Izzuddin once again failed to progress deep into a tournament, continuing a patchy run that has seen them struggle for consistency since breaking into the world’s top three.
