Suspected paedophile arrested in Johor; five children rescued

JOHOR BARU: A 29-year-old suspected paedophile was arrested in Taman Scientex, Pasir Gudang, last month on suspicion of raping, sodomising, and sexually assaulting five children aged between 2 months and 5 years.

Footage of the assaults was allegedly circulated on the dark web and shared via messaging platforms.

The children were rescued from the suspect’s house during an operation codenamed Ops Pedo, conducted between July 19 and Aug 19.

Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director, Datuk M. Kumar, said the suspect was detained as part of an ongoing investigation into sexual crimes against children.

“The assaults were recorded and later disseminated online,” he said.
