SHAH ALAM: The 15-year-old student who fell from the third floor of a school hostel in Sabak Bernam on Tuesday is reported to be in a stable condition.

Public Health and Environment Exco Jamaliah Jamaluddin said the teenager, who is still receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Sungai Buloh Hospital, has shown positive response to the medical treatment.

“According to the feedback from the Health Department, the student underwent a special procedure to control the pressure in his brain, and the emergency treatment was completed within the first 48 hours.

“As of the third day after the treatment, the student’s condition has become more stable and has shown several positive responses,” she said in a statement today.

She added that the medical team continues to monitor the student’s progress closely.

“The state government expresses its sympathy and prays for the victim’s swift recovery,” she said.

Jamaliah also called on all parties to provide space for the victim’s family and refrain from making or spreading any speculation that could affect their emotions.

“The state government, along with the department, will continue to monitor the student’s health progress and provide the necessary support to the family,” she added.

Yesterday, it was reported that 12 individuals had been questioned to assist in the investigation of the incident.
