PETALING JAYA:

Prime Minister Ibrahim wants all stakeholders to expedite the approval of development projects that can unlock new markets.

In a Facebook post, stressed the need for regular monitoring and evaluation of SOPs surrounding such approvals to ensure the country remains agile and responsive to evolving global dynamics.

Anwar, who attended the 47th National Physical Planning Council meeting today, also emphasised the importance of enhancing cooperation and coordination between the federal and state governments.

He said such collaborations will strengthen the nation’s domestic resilience amid global economic uncertainties.

“This reflects the government’s commitment to continue positioning Malaysia as a competitive nation and a premier investment destination within the region,” he said.

Last Saturday, Anwar said the federal and state governments must be fully prepared for global economic uncertainties, especially following the recent imposition of tariffs by the US.

He said all plans must be swiftly implemented to strengthen the country’s economy in the face of any external shocks or disruptions.

The US has imposed a 24% “reciprocal” tariff on Malaysia, and tariffs ranging from 10% to 49% on other Asean countries, which have been suspended for 90 days, in addition to a blanket minimum tariff of 10% on imports from all countries.
