In terms of pricing, the Starlink Mini kit can be obtained in Malaysia for RM930. As a comparison, the Starlink Standard V4 kit is currently being priced at RM1,600.

You can purchase the Starlink Mini kit at these authorised retailers at the moment:

Do note that the Starlink Mini kit does not include the Starlink internet subscription, which you have to sign up for separately. The monthly fee for the Starlink Residential plan currently starts at RM129 per month, and you can take advantage of the Residential plan’s promo, which offers RM1,200 of free service credit.

Through this offer, you can essentially enjoy 5 months of free service, although do make sure to understand the promo’s terms and conditions before you sign up. Meanwhile, there’s also the Starlink Business plan, which is available from RM217 per month, while those who love to go camping or travel all over the world can opt for the Starlink Roam plan that starts from RM220 per month.

Starlink Mini vs Starlink Standard – what are the differences?

As mentioned earlier, the Starlink Mini is a highly portable satellite receiver due to its compact footprint. In fact, it is so compact that you will most probably be able to fit the Starlink Mini into your backpack.

While Starlink did not mention any specific speed figure, it did say that the Starlink Mini is meant for basic internet applications. On the other hand, the larger Starlink Standard Kit is recommended for more demanding Internet tasks such as streaming, video calls, and even gaming, as it can deliver a much higher Internet speed.

Aside from the size and performance differences, the Starlink Mini also has an integrated dual-band Wi-Fi 5 router that is able to support up to 128 devices. The Starlink Standard V4 kit has a separate but more powerful tri-band Wi-Fi 6 router that is able to cover up to 235 devices.

There are still some similarities between them, though. In addition to their boxy shape, both Starlink Mini and Standard have built-in kickstands while you also have to orient the Mini manually during setup.
