COLOMBO, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) — Sri Lanka’s economy grew 4.9 percent in the second quarter of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, the Department of Census and Statistics (DCS) said Monday in a statement.
This marked the eighth consecutive quarter of positive economic growth.
In the reporting period, agricultural, industrial, and services activities increased 2.0 percent, 5.8 percent and 3.9 percent, respectively, according to the DCS.
