SRG.OG avenge defeat to MV, maintain perfect record in MPL MY

KUALA LUMPUR: Red Giants (SRG.OG) moved a step closer to clinching a third consecutive Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Professional League Malaysia (MPL MY) title after exacting revenge on the only team to beat them last season.

SRG.OG, who are the Mid Season Cup champions, secured a clinical 2-0 win over Monster Vicious (MV) yesterday (April 27).

MV had defeated SRG.OG 2-1 in the league last season.

It was SRG.OG’s third win on the trot and placed them at the top of the current league standings on nine points.

SRG.OG head coach Michael Angelo “Arcadia” Bocado revealed that the key to victory was forcing MV into errors by luring them into poor positions.

“We were looking forward to this match as they had defeated us last season,” said the Filipino coach after the match.

“We took this match a little more personally because of that loss and we are happy to have avenged it.

“The team did well, they applied pressure and forced our opponents into making mistakes.”

The second week of MPL MY action kicked off on Friday (April 25) with Aero Esports securing their first win of the season by defeating Team Rey 2-1, followed by SRG.OG’s 2-0 victory over league newcomers DX Soul.

On Saturday (April 26), Team Vamos continued to steady their campaign with a 2-0 win over Ocean Black, powered by teenage jungler Danish Tahqif “Error 404” Abdullah, who was named the series’ Most Valuable Player.

HomeBois recorded their first win of the weekend by beating a struggling JP Niners side 2-0 before Todak rounded off the day’s action with a 2-0 triumph over Team Rey.

Yesterday, HomeBois had to dig deep before securing a 2-1 victory over DX Soul while SRG.OG comfortably dispatched MV 2-0.

Todak wrapped up the week’s fixtures with a convincing 2-0 win over Ocean Black.
