Son held after man found stabbed to death, believed over property matters

The suspect has been remanded for seven days to assist in the investigation for murder.
PETALING JAYA:

A 24-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his 62-year-old father to death in Cheras following a dispute believed to be linked to family property matters.

Cheras deputy police chief Ridzuan Khalid said the victim was found lying unconscious in the living room of an apartment in Bandar Permaisuri with severe injuries to his face and head.

The body was sent to Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz for a post-mortem.

Police later detained the suspect, who is unemployed, to assist in the investigation.

He has been remanded for seven days while the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
