ALOR SETAR: Six rivers across five districts in Kedah have recorded water levels exceeding the danger mark this evening, with readings continuing to rise.
According to the Department of Irrigation and Drainage’s (DID) Public Info Banjir portal as of 7pm today, the affected rivers are Sungai Anak Bukit in Taman Aman, Kota Setar; Sungai Titi Kerbau, Sungai Kubur Panjang and Sungai Pendang in Pendang; Sungai Ketil in Kampung Bongor, Baling; Sungai Perik in Padang Terap; and Sungai Laka in Kampung Padang Pasir, Kubang Pasu.
Additionally, water levels at Sungai Chepir in Titi Pekan, Sik have surpassed the alert stage.
Meanwhile, Sungai Ketil in Kuala Pegang, Baling; Sungai Padang Terap in Kepala Batas and Sungai Bata in Kubang Pasu; Sungai Naka in Padang Terap; and Sungai Kedah at the Highway Bridge in Kota Setar have all exceeded the warning level.
