CHUKAI: Six students from a religious secondary school in Chukai were arrested yesterday following a report of bullying and beating of a male student at the end of last month.
The 16-year-olds were brought to the Kemaman police headquarters at about 11.30am to assist with the investigation and was remanded for three days.
Magistrate Sharifah Amirda Shasha Amir Sharifuddin approved the remand order until Sunday to allow police to investigate the case under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting.
The 15-year-old victim reported that he was bullied and beaten by all six suspects in a dormitory on July 30, with the assault occurring in front of several other students.
He suffered minor injuries and lodged a police report on Aug 3.
