GEORGE TOWN: A sinkhole has appeared at Jalan Burma, causing the road to be temporarily closed.
State Local Government Committee chairman H’ng Mooi Lye said a broken sewer pipe was the cause of the sinkhole.
Authorities have diverted traffic from both sides of Jalan Penang into Jalan Burma.
“Indah Water Konsortium is already at the site to carry out repair works,” he said.
