#SHOWBIZ: Veteran actor Razak Ahmad conferred Datuk title


KUALA LUMPUR: Veteran actor Razak Ahmad, 58, has been conferred the title of Datuk by the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.

The honour was bestowed during an investiture ceremony held yesterday in conjunction with the 66th birthday of the Sultan of Pahang.

In a post uploaded to his social media account, Razak expressed his gratitude and humility at receiving the honour, which he described as deeply meaningful.

“With full gratitude and humility, I would like to record my highest appreciation to His Majesty the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah for the conferment of this meaningful title of Datuk,” he wrote.

“This award is not just a personal recognition, but also a great trust that must be carried with full integrity, responsibility, and dedication. I accept this title as an encouragement to continue contributing to the religion, race, and country with more diligence and sincerity.”

He also extended his thanks to those who have supported him throughout his career.

“Thank you also to my beloved family, friends, and everyone who has always supported and prayed throughout this journey. No success comes without the cooperation, trust, and love of the great people around me.

“May I continue to be given the strength, wisdom, and sincerity to shoulder this responsibility to the best of my ability,” he added.

Razak, who was born in Pahang, began his career in the arts as an actor and singer in 1985 and remains active in the industry today.

His film credits include Embun, Yamashita’s Gold Hunter Scenario, Salam Cinta, Suami Aku Ustaz, Keluarga Iskandar The Movie, Budak Flat, and Mak.

His television drama appearances feature in series such as Gila-Gila Pengantin, Abadi Sebuah Cinta, Hikayat Putera Shazlan, Geng Surau, Keluarga Baha Don, Ayat-Ayat Halal, and Teguh.
