#SHOWBIZ: Taiwanese singer Jam Hsiao splits pants on stage

TAIPEI: Taiwanese singer Jam Hsiao’s recent performance at the Taipei Dome went viral for an unexpected reason.

According to a report by 8Days, the 38-year-old was a guest at a concert honouring the retiring Taiwanese baseball legend Lin Chih Sheng of the Wei Chuan Dragons.

Everything was going smoothly until Hsiao got a little too into his performance of his hit song ‘Princess’.

That’s when his trousers split open at the crotch, revealing a bright red pair of undies. “Ah! My trousers ripped!” he yelled before carrying on with the show.

Instead of rushing backstage to change, Hsiao tied his jacket around his waist and kept performing.

Reporters turned to the next best source for a picture of the torn trousers: Hsiao’s wife and manager, Summer Lin.

She obliged and posted a photo of her husband’s wardrobe malfunction on her Instagram Stories.

Unsurprisingly, the snap quickly went viral, with media estimating the tear to be about 10cm long.

The most amusing part? Hsiao’s mother, who was in the audience that night, thought the split was a planned gimmick.
