#SHOWBIZ: Siti Nurhaliza appointed UiTM adjunct professor

SHAH ALAM: Biduanita Negara (national songstress), Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin, has been appointed as an adjunct professor in the Faculty of Management and Business at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM).

Speaking at the Letter of Appointment presentation ceremony held at the Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin UiTM Chancellery, Siti, 46, expressed her honour and appreciation for the collaboration.

“I hope this appointment opens up a space between industry and academia so that students can learn about the real world of entrepreneurship in a more realistic way,” she told Harian Metro.

“What we learn from books and teachers will actually be applied when we leave and graduate. The challenges of today are different. The way of thinking also needs to be more realistic and in line with the current extraordinary situation. I myself am still learning the marketing methods I use for my business,” she added.

Siti stressed that students should not be afraid to face failure as they develop into entrepreneurs.

“To all students, don’t be afraid to start small or be afraid to fail. I would like to express my gratitude to UiTM for this award. I promise to fulfil this responsibility to the best of my ability,” she said.

UiTM vice-chancellor, Professor Datuk Ts Dr Shahrin Sahib @ Sahibuddin, said that the university is proud to welcome Siti as part of its extended family.

“This appointment not only recognises her success in the creative and entrepreneurial industries but also marks a new beginning in collaboration between academia and industry,” he said.

Siti will assume the role of adjunct professor from Oct 15, 2025 to Oct 15, 2027.

She began her tenure by serving as a panellist at the Premier Lecture programme organised by the Faculty of Management and Business today.
