KUALA LUMPUR: The atmosphere at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil was nothing short of electric last night, as nearly 70,000 fans converged for the Legacy 30 Siti Nurhaliza concert.
The stadium precinct was a hive of activity hours before showtime, with a festive, fiesta-like energy filling the air. Traffic moved in slow circles as concertgoers hunted for parking, a situation intensified by several concurrent events in the area—including the Malaysia Open badminton tournament, a circus, and various exhibitions.
While doors only opened after 6.30pm, the most devoted fans began arriving as early as 10.30am.
Such dedication is the hallmark of the Sitizoners, Siti’s loyal fan club, to whom she dedicated the entire evening.
“This is Sitizoners’ evening. So, let’s celebrate,” she told the roaring crowd after opening the night with an energetic medley.
During the three-hour musical extravaganza, which kicked off at 8.30pm, the country’s No.1 singer belted out a comprehensive string of her legendary hits, including Purnama Merindu, Jerat Percintaan, Percayalah, Wajah Kekasih, Cindai, Nirmala, and Ya Maulai.
Adding to the spectacle, Siti was joined on stage by a stellar line-up of guest performers, including Noh Salleh, Hafiz Suip, Cakra Khan, and her talented niece, Umairah.
The event was graced by the presence of the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin. Also spotted in the crowd were fellow industry luminaries such as Ella, Dayang Nurfaizah, Hael Husaini, Aina Abdul, Datuk Syafinaz Selamat, Wany Hasrita, and Rozita Che Wan.
In a touching departure from the traditional “encore” chant, the evening concluded with the massive audience erupting into a heartfelt rendition of the birthday song for Siti, who turned 47 on Jan 11.
