#SHOWBIZ: Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji reunite onscreen, fans overwhelmed with nostalgia

MUMBAI: Bollywood’s superstar Datuk Shah Rukh Khan has once again stole the spotlight after posting a reel with his longtime screen partner, Rani Mukerji, sending fans into a wave of nostalgia.

According to the Hindustan Times, the video shared on social media showed the iconic early-2000s duo dancing gracefully to ‘Tu Pehli Tu Aakhri’, the soundtrack from ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’, the directorial debut of Shah Rukh’s son, Aryan Khan.

In a heartfelt caption, Shah Rukh reminisced about their first National Award win: “Our dream of winning a National Award finally came true. Congratulations Rani, you will always be the queen of my heart, forever loved,” he wrote.

Shah Rukh was previously crowned Best Actor for ‘Jawan’ (2023), while Rani earned recognition for her powerful role in ‘Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway’ (2023).

Although the soundtrack was originally performed by rising stars Lakshya Lalwani and Sahher Bambba, it was Shah Rukh and Rani’s cameo appearance that evoked strong nostalgia among fans longing for their golden on-screen pairing.

The reel quickly sparked excitement, with fans flooding the comments section, many admitting they never thought they would witness a reunion of their favourite romantic duo.

Throughout their careers, Shah Rukh and Rani starred in several iconic films, including ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ (1998), ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ (2001), ‘Chalte Chalte’ (2003), and ‘Paheli’ (2005).

The pair is also rumoured to reunite on the big screen in the upcoming action-thriller ‘King’, directed by Siddharth Anand.
