CYBERJAYA: Singer Sissy Imann considers the title of stepmother a blessing and is grateful to have won the hearts of her husband, Dr Zamir Hilman Dr Hamzah’s, children.
Sissy, 30, shared this when she was interviewed at their Baba and Nyonya-themed wedding reception held at WG Glassbox, Tamarind Square, here, last night.
“Thank God, I view this as a kind of genuine fortune for us to gain more spiritual rewards.
“We have met many times, and Zamir’s children have called my father (yanda) and my mother (bonda) their grandparents (nenda and tokda) from the start.
“It’s just me they still call ‘Aunty’ for now. But thank God, everything is okay,” she said.
Sissy also mentioned that she confided in her close friend, singer Sarah Suhairi, who was one of the first people to know that she would be tying the knot.
“Sarah was one of the first to know the happy news. Praise be to God.
“She is happy for me and for the processes that need to be followed when marrying someone who has been married before; she understands the partnership dynamic,” Sissy explained.
Dr Zamir acknowledged the positive relationship between Sissy and his children, noting that he did not see any awkwardness between them.
“Thank God, my children like her. I don’t see her (Sissy) being clumsy or uncertain about the relationship,” he said.
However, Dr Zamir declined to disclose the number or identity of his children, citing safety reasons.
The lovely couple were happily married at the Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque in Putrajaya, last Friday.
