KUALA LUMPUR: Popular singer and rapper Mimifly recently joined the elite ranks of local icons like Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza and Yuna after her image graced the world-renowned digital billboards of Times Square in New York.
Selected as part of a Spotify campaign, the ‘Angkat’ and ‘Serumpun’ hitmaker revealed that the achievement was made even sweeter by the overwhelming reactions from her inner circle.
“When I shared the news, they were over the moon,” she shared, citing her “extraordinary support system” as the fuel for her recent career resurgence.
The visual display first lit up the Big Apple on Jan 22.
Desperate for a glimpse, Mimifly, whose real name is Shamimi Amalina Norisham, reached out to a DJ friend and her sister’s acquaintances in New York to capture the moment on film.
