#SHOWBIZ: Farahdhiya reunites with mum after two-year separation

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer and actress Farahdhiya Mohd Amin, 41, has finally been reunited with her mother after a two-year separation.

Her mother travelled from England to Malaysia to see her.

On Instagram, the singer of the song ‘Bertakhta Di Hati’ uploaded a video of herself waiting at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Sepang for her mother’s arrival.

“Mum is back. Yesterday, I waited anxiously for almost two hours for her to come out. I was so nervous because I hadn’t seen her in over two years!” she wrote, adding a love emoji.

“I’ve missed you so much. Thank goodness she’s back in my arms now.”

In the video, her mother can be seen crying as her daughter hugs her.

Farahdhiya had previously revealed that her fear of flying was why she did not go to London to visit her mother. They last saw each other when her mother came to Malaysia in December 2022 after a three-year gap.

While Farahdhiya had been planning a trip to London at the end of December or January, recent aviation incidents had made her and her family afraid of long-distance travel.

However, the mother and daughter remained close, communicating daily through video calls.

Farahdhiya admitted that being away from her mother was difficult, and these calls were the only way they could stay connected.

The popular aritste, who is of Malay and English heritage, lost her father, Mohd Amin Zubir, on 9 January 2020.

She now has one brother who also lives in Kuala Lumpur.
